New COBOL Compiler
GCC COBOL (gcobol) is a front end to the Gnu Compiler Collection (GCC). GCC C language compiler (gcc) is the foundation for Linux. gcobol is the front end, the back end produces native applications for Linux, Windows, Mac OS, and even the current IBM Mainframes. Packaging not done for all yet
2023 ISO-IEC COBOL
gcobol was developed to conform to the latest COBOL language updates. gcobol is the only implementation of an ISO-IEC complient compiler. This updated standard specifies many new capabilitities making it easier for modern developers to adapt to current challenges.
GCC Means Portability
GCC supports Intel/AMD, ARM, RISC-V and others from your source code. No changes needed. Platforma A to Platform B ... just a recompile. GCC even supports many older platforms but GCC COBOL is currently only a 64-bit capable compiler.
COBOL Dialects
gcobol has support for IBM mainframe, Microfocus, and GnuCOBOL dialects. We mean to make migration a simple "Lift and Shift." Your inventory certainly contains many batch programs that could be quickly ported to inexensive modern platforms to generate savings overall.
